Requirements for obtaining Virginia Sales Associate License

While real estate business in Virginia is one of the most profitable businesses in the commercial world, the same is regulated by the Federal and State Laws. There is a mandatory 60 hours training course for the prospective real estate dealers. For the “Sales Associate Post-License” in Virginia you have to complete successfully the concerned 30-hour training course. Earlier you had to complete this course within the specified period of two years from the date of grant of your license. Recently there has been an amendment to this law. From the first day of July 2008 onwards you will have to complete this course successfully within one year of getting your license.

You will also have to complete a two-hour education course on the subject of “limited service agency”. This one time requirement applies to all active license holders. So when someone approaches you claiming that he is a virginia real estate agent take care to find out whether he complied with these requirements.
